Joan Henry-Fields Founder and Executive Director A Word About Joan

Joan’s career has spanned the public and private sectors, focusing on transforming lives through skills building workshops, service coordination and education, locally and internationally, with social sector organizations. Joan has held leadership positions with educational and human services organizations in New York City, Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland, as well as private sector positions with local schools and Human Services organizations in Jamaica West Indies.

In addition to RESA, she serves as founder/president of the WEE Global Network founded in 2008. The signature program of the Wee Global Network is the annual Women’s Entrepreneur Expo. Since 2008, this annual event served the residents of Maryland as well as several other states, as a free event that is open to the public. The expo is an interactive business expo, designed to provide opportunities for small businesses, women-owned businesses, new businesses, expanding businesses, and successful businesses. The event prides itself with business revitalization as well as providing women and girls with the tools and resources to connect, learn, and start their own business. Joan is an international Radio Personality and Published Author.

Joan has served on several non-profit boards including EDON Healthcare Services, Sisters Helping Sisters, Inc., Amazing Race, Inc., and more. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from the Audrey Cohen College in Manhattan, New York; a Master’s degree in Social Work from Howard University in Washington DC, and is currently wrapping up her Doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on Management with Grand Canyon University, Arizona. Joan is a native of Jamaica West Indies and lives in Maryland. Joan’s goal is to establish quality relationships and be an agent of change in the lives of the people she comes in contact.
